Explication Of Harlem

“Harlem” by Langston Hughes Explication Through the chaotic times of the Harlem Renaissance many African Americans went through difficult times and found pacifier in reverieing. The people who lived in Harlem’s ghettos would ambitiousness meagerly a better place for their selves, their families and their futures. In the verse form, “Harlem”, by Langston Hughes, Hughes discussed romances and what they could do. Hughes’ song begins: “What happens to a day- trance deferred?”(Line 1). Hughes is asking what happens to a dream that is creation delayed. Dreams can be grave or bad, or argon they neither good nor bad. He continues by using the fable: Does it dry up like a raisin in the solarise?(Line 2-3). Using this simile, he is stating that dreaming can be good or bad. A raisin is a grape that has been modify taboo by the sunbathe. Hughes is informing the readers that dreams can pull the lifespan expose of a person, mentally dehydrating them. However raisins are non bad. When the sun dries out the grape it turns the grape into a raisin, which is a fragrancy and enjoyable fruit, which can furnish life when eaten.
